My Path to Empowering Postpartum Fitness

As a former competitive gymnast, I tried just about every movement class out there before falling in love with barre. Building upon my extensive coaching experience, a keen eye for form and detail, a degree in Kinesiology, and my time working in rehab as a Chiropractic PT Aide and Clinic Manager, I completed my initial barre training with Pure Barre in 2017. Since then, I’ve continued to grow—through formal certifications and hands-on experience—always aiming to lead thoughtful, effective classes.
After our move to The Netherlands in 2020, I added Reformer Pilates to my repertoire, which brought another dimension to my mat classes.
My first pregnancy ended in an unexpected C-section, which left me feeling unprepared and frustrated. That experience lit a fire in me to learn everything I could about prenatal and postpartum fitness. From rebuilding my core with the help of Pelvic Floor Physical Therapists to completing Pre/Postnatal Fitness Trainer courses and advanced continuing education, I went into my second pregnancy equipped, empowered—and came out feeling stronger than ever.
That strength is what inspired me to create Strength by Sara—a space for women to feel capable, supported, and confident in their bodies, especially through motherhood. Creating a dynamic fusion of barre, Pilates, rehab exercises and functional strength training, it’s based on evidence and the principles of progression, designed to empower and build true strength.
In the years since originally launching as Fit Mama Moves, I have evolved as I learned more about what our community of mothers need. Combined with my own experience balancing work and motherhood without nearby family, I understand that moms need more than just workouts. That’s why Strength by Sara is built not just on movement, but on education, community, and real-life understanding.
Since then, I've deepened my expertise even further by becoming certified in Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS), a method rooted in developmental kinesiology that retrains the body's core stabilization patterns from the ground up. This approach has been transformative — not just for the moms I work with, but for anyone dealing with chronic pain, old injuries, poor movement patterns, or simply wanting to build a stronger, more resilient foundation.
While my own journey started in pregnancy and postpartum recovery, my 1:1 training has grown to serve a much wider range of people: athletes looking to move better, desk workers untangling years of poor posture, weekend warriors nursing nagging injuries, and anyone who wants to feel strong and capable in their body again. Whatever brought you here — whether it's prenatal prep, postpartum recovery, an old injury, or just wanting to finally move without pain — I bring the same depth of knowledge, patience, and individualized approach to every client.
Strength by Sara is for anyone ready to invest in real, lasting strength — built on solid science, personalized coaching, and genuine support.
Let's build that strength together.
Rooted in experience. Backed by expertise. Designed for you.
